Looking back on the 80's

Thinking back growing up in the 80’s, there were many fun times. The superficial retro clothing, pink and blue neon bars, the birth of MTV, bad slang, and of course big hair. Michael Jackson was the King of Pop and Run DMC, LL Cool J, and other talented groups brought hip hop and rap to the forefront of music. Television was odd, Alf, Miami Vice, Magnum PI, A Team, Moonlighting, the list goes on an on.

It was a time where comedians ruled like rock stars. Eddie Murphy and Andrew Dice Clay truly were royalty.

However all was not fun. Famine in Africa, political upheaval in the USSR. Aids was highlighted and claimed some of our brightest musical stars (Klaus Nomi and Freddie Mercury).

Truly it was a unique time in history and I am glad to have been part of it. Fortunately the internet has helped keep the 80s alive. The videos and sounds continue to echo out from our computers causing us to reflect back on good friends and good times.

I hope that this web site helps you remember all that was good in the 80s and perhaps, bring a smile to you.
